So, coaching? Is what exactly?
Great question! Coaching is a service. As a coach, my aim is to help people reach their goals and live their best lives.
Ugh! "Live your best life" sounds so flaky. It makes me think of an Instagram post of a skinny blonde woman on a beach in Asia — you know, with her arms in the air holding some kind of gauzy sarong thing. You've seen the picture. Maybe that's her best life (I hope she has sunscreen?) but it doesn't have to be yours.
That's the real power of coaching: it's not about how to live what Tony Robbins or Elon Musk or Gwyneth Paltrow thinks is your best life, it's about how to live what you think is your best life.
So sometimes (okay, often) the first step in coaching is to cut through the noise of everyone else's opinions and figure out what your best life is – what you really want. Step two is to figure out what your current reality is, and step three is to figure out how to bridge the gap between those two things.
Three steps to your best life! It sounds so simple! But of course simple is not easy, and that's where coaching comes in. I offer a listening ear, incisive questions, sympathetic company, and the teeniest bit of advice if you want it. But mostly I create room for you to become your you-est you.
There is a lot more to say about coaching, but I'll save it for future newletters. In the meantime, if you have any specific questions, please hit "reply" and ask!
