Message from the Board of Directors

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we find ourselves in unusual and unprecedented times. The Board of Directors hope that you and your families are coping well and are staying healthy while social distancing.

With the temporary closure of the museum, we face significant financial challenges, in that the museum has no source of income. April, May and June are typically our busiest months with students partaking in the Learning Centre, but this will not be the case this year.

The planned ground schools and the Rust-Remover workshops have been postponed. Those that have already registered will be notified when these are re-scheduled.

And with great regret, our major fundraising event, Aviation Days planned for May 30 and 31 has been postponed indefinitely.

Yet our rent, utilities and insurance costs need to be paid.

To date, the Aviation Museum does not qualify for any Federal Government financial pandemic support programs. So, we look toward our community for support. We are inviting Saskatchewan Aviation Museum members to renew their 2020 memberships and/or consider a donation to the museum.

Due to the museum closure, payment can only be made via PayPal as indicated below or by cheque made payable to Saskatchewan Aviation Museum and mailed to: 5 Hangar Road, Saskatoon SK S7L 5X4. Tax receipts will be issued, upon request, for donations over $20.00.

With your financial assistance, the museum will weather this pandemic storm and reopen when the storm clouds clear. Then the Tiger Moth will be in the skies again.

On a more positive note, the Board of Directors is excited about our new and improved museum website currently under development. The new website will be filled with information regarding hours, programs, rentals, plane history, photo gallery and much more to improve public access to information about the museum. The finishing touches are being made and we plan to launch the site later in May. We will keep you posted as we near the unveiling date.

The Saskatchewan Aviation Historical Society operating as the Saskatchewan Aviation Museum and Learning Centre is a a registered charity. Donations help us to meet our overhead costs, support programming, enable restoration projects, and raise capital to secure the museum’s future.

Memberships

Our members are vital to the growth and stability of the museum. Memberships can be purchased at any time and will be valid until December 31, 2020.

Individual ($40) and Family* ($75) memberships provide

access to visit the museum free of charge
a 10% discount in our Gift Shop.

Corporate Memberships – New for 2020!

Spread the word! Corporate Memberships are now available to our business community. Expanding our membership base will provide additional awareness and funds for the ongoing operations of the museum.

A Corporate membership for $250 will include 10 complementary museum passes to be used by their employees, customers, or family.
