CORONAVIRUS UPDATES FROM
ADVANTAGE VALLEY

March 17, 2020
POSTPONING MARCH 19th MANUFACTURING SUPPLY CHAIN EXPO

Out of an abundance of caution we will be postponing the March 19th Supply Chain EXPO to ease any concerns about the spread of infection.  We heard from attendees and speakers who were unsure of their ability to come to the meeting due to organizational restrictions on travel and conferences.  With recent trends by businesses and colleges/universities to reduce travel and group interaction, we thought it best to take this action.  We plan to reschedule the event and will assess a new date as the public health situation becomes more clear.

We are disappointed to delay the EXPO, as we had more than 105 registered for the event.  We are already working with prime companies and partners to offer this event in the future, and will be communicating new dates to everyone as soon as they are confirmed.

Thank you for your interest in the EXPO.  If you have questions, please contact Terrell Ellis, Executive Director of Advantage Valley (emailterrell@advantagevalley.com or phone 304-352-1165) or Derek Scarbro, Director of RCBI’s Appalachian Hatchery (email dscarbro@rcbi.orgor phone 304-781-1684.)

Thank you for your understanding!
Small Business Administration Extends Economic Injury Disaster Loans to Small Businesses Impacted Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act 2020 (H.R. 6074) expanded the Small Business Act’s definition of a disaster to include Coronavirus (COVID-19). As a result, the SBA will be able to provide Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) under a Governor’s Certification Disaster Declaration. In order for SBA to issue an EIDL declaration, the Governor must submit a written request to SBA with supporting economic injury loss information that certifies at least five small businesses in a disaster area have suffered substantial economic injury as a result of the disaster.

How to Apply

We encourage any and all small businesses that have been impacted to complete the estimated disaster economic injury worksheet, attached here and submit it to the West Virginia Governor’s Office at your earliest opportunity to:
