What is this virtual event?
The Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Manufacturing, along with its partners at Advantage Valley, Huntington Area Development Council, Putnam County Economic Development Authority and Charleston Area Alliance, are hosting a virtual supply chain expo with Steel of West Virginia, Inc., a division of Steel Dynamics, one of the largest domestic steel producers and metal recyclers in the United States. The event will give local and regional suppliers an opportunity to learn more about doing businesses with the company.
This event will take place digitally over two separate dates. On July 14th, from 1-2 PM, staff from Steel of West Virginia will speak to attendees about their procurement processes and supplier opportunities. Staff from partner agencies will be on hand to guide this discussion. Then on July 23rd as many as 15 companies will be given the opportunity to meet one-on-one digitally with the purchasing staff of Steel of West Virginia. These meetings will be organized with the assistance of the partner agency organizers and will be based on suppliers' abilities to serve contract services and supplier requests from the company. Every attendee to the July 14th forum will be given the opportunity to submit a qualification of services to be considered for these one-on-one sessions.
Who Should Register?
All types of businesses are encouraged to attend including those who may provide input to the manufacturing sector and those who provide metal machine shop or fabrication services, steel punching, tool and die services, repair and manufacturer of equipment, equipment inspection services, coatings, painting, heat treatment, inventory management services, recycling or disposal services, non-destructive testing services, to name a few.
