CARES Act Funding

We’re delighted to announce that the CREATE Foundation will oversee $1.6 million in CARES Act funding ($786,261.07 for nonprofits and $786,261.07 for food pantries) to award grants of up to $4,000 to Eligible Grantees.  An applicant must apply either as a “nonprofit entity” or a “food pantry.” An organization that meets both definitions, such as a nonprofit that operates a food pantry but also has other programs, may qualify as an Eligible Grantee for both funds.

Applications will be accepted until January 15, 2021. You may create an account and access the application at www.mscaresgrant.com.

On Thursday mornings you are invited to participate in a webinar beginning at 9:00 to share ideas and discuss moving forward through uncertainty. Click here to participate. It's FREE!

If you missed any of the previous webinars, you can find them here.

If you have not submitted your Volunteer Activity Report for September yet, please do so by October 14.

These reports are vital to letting funders know that Mississippi nonprofits are utilizing volunteers to help keep costs down.

If you have already sent in your numbers, thank you!

Volunteer NEMS gets calls every day from people who want to volunteer, and of course, we direct them to the online hub. If your organization is not registered on there, how will these potential volunteers know about you? Register today - then post a volunteer opportunity or two. It's FREE!
