NONPROFIT SPOTLIGHT
          HELPING HANDS

Established in 1998, Helping Hands Food Pantry and Clothes Closet  meets several needs of the less fortunate. This nonprofit is run by the First United Methodist Church in Tupelo with help from volunteers in the area. Each week the pantry provides food boxes for approximately 500 Lee County residents. This food distribution takes place every Saturday from 9:00-11:00. In addition, the Clothes Closet provides clothing and household items. The Helping Hands building is located at 314 South Church Street in Tupelo.

During the pandemic, the clothes closet has remained closed, but the food pantry is still operating. However, there is currently a shortage of three items: dry pinto beans, rice, and corn meal. If you are able to make a donation of any of these items, please drop them off at the church at 412 West Main Street in Tupelo. Please call 690-8100 before arriving at the church so that someone can meet you at the back door to let you in.

Thank you to everyone at Helping Hands for the important work you do!
