Schlumberger Foundation Funding Opportunity

The Schlumberger Foundation is funding an opportunity for female citizens of developing countries where women are underrepresented in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. The deadline for the opportunity is November 5th 2021.

In the article, Low- and Middle-Income Countries Lack Access to Big Data Analysis – Here’s how to Fill the Gap, Dr. Eric Vance and David Gunderman from the University of Colorado Boulder discuss the origin of the Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Statistical Analysis. The article discusses how we are working to develop a stable and strong statistical infrastructure across the world. Their goal of the program is to help build data science infrastructure in developing nations. In 10 countries and counting, we have started “stat labs” – academic centers that train young statisticians to collaborate on important local statistics projects.
