City of Hart Issues Three Requests for Proposals

HART, MI - The City of Hart is seeking Requests for Proposals for three projects within the city.

DEMOLITION OF 227 E MAIN STREET
Seeking bids to demolish all structures and construct a retaining wall at the former Walker’s Restaurant at 227 E Main Street, Hart, MI 49420.

DOWNTOWN PARKING AND STREETSCAPE DESIGN AND PLAN
Seeking proposals from qualified professional engineering/consulting firms to create a downtown business district parking and streetscape design and plan.

WAYFINDING SIGNAGE INSTALLATION
Seeking bids for the planning, fabrication, and installation of wayfinding signage in accordance with the city's design specs. The City of Hart is considering implementing a wayfinding sign program over the next three to five fiscal years.

Music on the Commons featuring the Silverado Band Thursday, July 14th

Join us Thursday, July 14th for this good-time classic country band performing music styles ranging from Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Toby Keith to Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis and the Mavericks live at the Hart Commons at the corner of Main and State Street on Hart Lake - FREE. Thursday concerts take place from 7-9 PM. Come early & enjoy a meal at one of our local eateries and check out the Makers Market from 5-8 pm - bring your lawn chair or blanket.

Hart Makers Market

Do you sew, paint, make pottery, or other handmade wares?  The City of Hart invites you to apply for the 2022 HART MAKERS MARKET that takes place Thursdays in the summer from 5-8 pm in Downtown Hart.  Apply now!!  (instructions will be emailed to you after you apply).

Dates:      THURSDAYS (July 14, 21 and 28, August 4, 11, 18, and 25) 
Time:        5:00 - 8:00 PM   
Location:  Parking lot across from Hart Commons Park

Hart's Social District is up and running!  Now, you can order adult beverages "to-go" from Kristi's Pour House, LaProbadita or Hart Pizza and enjoy within the district (see map).  Sip and shop, and enjoy a beverage in the park or during our summer concert series!

Resilient Lakeshore Heritage Grant Program Now Open to Eligible Hart Businesses in Historic District

The Resilient Lakeshore Heritage Grant Program is a reimbursement grant program intended to support long-term investment in the irreplaceable heritage assets of Michigan’s rural lakeshore communities.

Program funding is specifically for building rehabilitation (i.e., “bricks and mortar”) projects and associated pre-development (e.g., plans and specifications) work.

The minimum grant award is $30,000. The maximum grant award is $100,000. To stimulate local investment, grants require a minimum 10% match of the grant amount requested.

Applications are now open! Applications will be accepted until September 1, 2022
