MAKING the INVISIBLE VISIBLE
from Sverre Norfliet, GiGi BARRAGi, et in collaboration with Lavi Picu.
It started with a conversation about lyme, and progressed to the realization that living with lyme is very similar to living with the abstractions of mental health issues, very internalized pain, but invisible from the outside.
Making the Invisible Visible
Every year more and more people are diagnosed with lyme disease. However, because diagnosing lyme can be difficult, many people may be misdiagnosed with other conditions.
Lyme disease affects people of all ages.
Some of the daily symptoms include: chronic joint and muscle pains, inflammation, severe brain fog, dizziness, memory issues and loss, misplacing words and terms, slurred speech, concentration and attention difficulties, severe insomnia, fatigue, daily sore throat, anxiety and depression, numbness and tingling in hands, feet, arms, legs and face. Severe migraines, bell’s palsy, trouble reading, heart arrhythmias, chest pains, pericarditis, pericardial effusion, hypertension, POTS, extreme shortness of breath, IGG deficiency, lymphocytopenia, anemia, hot flashes, hot/cold intolerance, fevers, constant ovarian cysts, hormonal issues, burning feet, positive Lupus, Sjogren’s and Rheumatoid Arthritis, etc…
Shall we keep on?
By raising money and building knowledge and familiarity with these struggles for sufferers, we fund the search for new treatments, and we fight against the confusion surrounding lyme, while making empathetic connections for those with traumas and disorders disguised by internality.
Interpretations of mind, body, and space hum in brilliant tones.
Welcome to The Invisible, opening on October Second.
