With deep sadness, we are informing that, Panditji – Shri Dhirajlal Dahyabhai Mehta has passed away at his residence in Surat India this morning at 9:30 AM (IST)
Panditji passed away peacefully at the age of 87. The most eminent Swadhyakar for the Sanghs in America, Panditji was a prolific writer. Every year during his stay in America, he was able to write and publish a new book. In all, he has written over 43 books on difficult subjects like Karma Granth (6 volumes), Ratnakaravtarika (3 volumes), Gandharvaad, Yogvishika, Yogshatak, Yog Drashti Sammuchaya, Tatvarth Sutra, and a Jain Dictionary. He had the gift of being able to explain the most complex Jain subjects in a simple, easy to understand language. During the Coronavirus lockdown, He continued providing Swadhyays on the web.
Punditji is very well known to our members. He has visited our center for many years and has provided great knowledge on Jainism to not only our members, but also to many other centers in North America. Punditji was a pillar of Jain philosophy and was always very calm and peaceful.
On behalf of Jain Center of South Florida, please accept our heartfelt condolences and prayers. We requests to recite Navkar Mahamantra in memory of the departed soul.
