What have TMG members been up to over the last few weeks in summary:

  • Some trustees have been very active in setting up calling circles by phone for members.
  • Members of the Music Committee met twice by Zoom to plan programmes for 2021.
  • Members of the Management Committee met twice by Zoom to review the current situation.
  • We had to cancel one Community concert and the workshop, Navigating the Musical Page.
  • Members of the Management Committee took part in a series of General meetings by Zoom organised by Ipswich Arts Association. They have been sharing thoughts about the current position for the performing arts and the challenges following easing of lockdown.
  • Trustees of Trianon also took part in a number of workshops organised by Making Music covering issues such as risk assessment, recruitment and performance workshops.

Trianon on Tour

Where would you like to go in 2021? We are beginning to plan for the Tour in October 2021. If you know of a group or destination that you think we could link up with, within a four hour journey time from Ipswich. Please contact within a week of receiving this email. 

Social Events

Virtual Tea Parties – these have been hosted by Chris, Maddy and Gillian and Roger. They are being held on a weekly basis, and various members of the choir and orchestra have been invited to attend. So far short solos have been provided by Sue Flute, Grace on trumpet and Roger on Oboe and Cor Anglais.

We also propose holding another Cocktail Evening soon, to allow members who are working to attend. Trustees do let Gillian Williams or Maddy Rhodes know if you would like to attend or host a tea party/cocktail evening.
Grace Harmen has been playing Trumpet for us a while now and has been showing her support for all the Key Workers by playing for them at the Thursday Clap for Carers.Grace is studying for her A-levels this year and will go on to study music and hopes to be a professional musician. Piano Master Class with Jools Holland

In this barnstorming masterclass, composer, pianist, bandleader and broadcaster Jools Holland shares his love of the piano. Jools demonstrates the importance of technique and feel, and talks about the styles that he loves including Gospel, the Blues, Country, Jazz, Ska and New Orleans.
