With summer winding down and fall just around the corner, there isn't much time left to soak up the sunshine before the school year begins. However, the weather might stay warm for longer than usual, so don't fret if you're longing for a beach day this month. The Delaware beaches are arguably the best part about living here or around the area, but there are also plenty of other things to keep yourself busy when planning what to do next summer. The state fair in Harrington, kayaking or walking around Trap Pond State Park, or hopping on the Cape May-Lewes ferry are just a few of the exciting things the first state has to offer for a summer full of fun. Beached & Rescued
Featured Local Business

As explained in an article from Delaware Today, Amy Dolan, founder of Beached & Rescued, started her home decor business with a product called pit paste, an aluminum-free deodorant, after her and her husband, James, decided to embark on a chemical-free lifestyle journey. Amy's first product opened the doors to several other products including a skin care trio focused on antiaging as well as body butter and beard balm. Her skin care and beauty products are available online from her Etsy shop where the name "Beached & Rescued" highlights how the natural ingredients will rescue your skin from "the sands of time". As for the home decor side of things, be sure to read the full DE Today article above to learn more about her Harbeson shop on Route 9 where you can find the pillow in the above image along with lamps, and artwork.

Adults and kids tend to use their space in very different ways. Adults might gravitate toward high-maintenance furniture, fragile accessories, and expensive devices in a living room, while a space mostly occupied by children will have, well, a lot of toys. Can parents and kids really share space—and have it look nice?

Cool Off Under a Waterfall at Francis Scott Key in Ocean City
Only in Maryland
|
|
|
Not to make these sections into anecdotes from my childhood, but I have random memories of always looking forward to my friends' birthday parties when they were at Francis Scott Key in Ocean City. They had (and still have!) everything. A shallow kiddie pool for your little ones, a water slide that is probably much smaller now than I remember, and a waterfall that spills over one wall of the pool that you can stand under with your friends or your kids only to be drenched. Along with the indoor water area, they also have an outdoor area with seating on a huge pirate ship overlooking two pools, as well as an indoor arcade room. Check out the full article here!
