Tyler Smiley
Featured Photographer
For Tyler Smiley, photography is something that's been developing throughout his life, starting around twelve years ago. He started out by using his parents' cell phones when they would go on boat trips or while playing with his dog in the backyard. Eventually, he worked his way up to the Canon DSLR he works with now and hopes to continue growing his photography arsenal.

A consistent location in Tyler's photography is the beach, but a specific spot he always comes back to is the Point at Cape Henlopen State Park. He says, "There's something about those lighthouses that draws me back time and time again." His favorite part of capturing the shots he gets is the challenge of determining the best way to compose them. Tyler says that it's "always fun figuring out the best way to set up a shot in terms of where the subject is, does portrait of landscape look better, etc."

If the images above appeal to you, Tyler is selling prints that can be ordered through his website. He is also open to working with people on special orders, which can be placed through direct message on Instagram and Facebook or via email. He cycles through different photographs every other month, but can do prints of any photo shared on his social media pages.

Delaware's Darkest Skies: Stargazing Spots to Wow You
Only in Delaware
If you're looking to take advantage of your next quiet night, stargazing is one of the best ways to do just that. Load up in your car or book a stay at a local campground to take in some of Delaware's darkest areas. Surprisingly, Cape Henlopen State Park is home to one of the state's darkest spots. Settle down on the beach during a New Moon and stare in awe at thousands of twinkling stars. Another location is Trap Pond State Park, situated just off the beaten path in Laurel. Light pollution is hard to come by there, so a night at the campgrounds is commonly lit up by beautiful starry skies. Lastly, it should be said that a drive along rural Sussex County will result in incredible star cover. Hop in your car and drive to one of these parks or along Slower Lower's farmlands to take in the stars.
Get Your Steps in at These Awesome Locations
Only in Maryland
Without a doubt, walking has been one of the most important things to do these past several months. Exercise is a great way to relieve stress and clear our minds, so here are just a few places to check out on your next nature walk. Assateague Island is known for their wild horses, but it is also home to beautiful nature trails and boardwalk paths. Another stunning location is Cross Island Trail on Kent Island. This area will lead you past farmland, woods, and dozens of bicyclists. Finally, if you're looking for something more unique, check out Patapsco Valley State Park. This park spans around 32 miles and features a swinging bridge that is sure to give you that daily adrenaline rush and gorgeous ruins pictured above. Take advantage of the cooler weather and find

"My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Sandra as our real estate agent during the search for our vacation get-away home at the beach. Not knowing any agents at the Delaware Beaches, we located Sandra through shared connections on LinkedIn. From our first introductory phone conversation, she was welcoming and warm while listening to our needs and preferences."
What My Clients Are Saying...
Longboard Cafe
Featured Restaurant
Longboard Cafe is an American casual style restaurant in Ocean City, Maryland that opened in spring of 2013. Owner Rick Vach and his parents have owned restaurants and other businesses in the Ocean City area for years, so when the opportunity came up to open a restaurant in the town center, he took it without question.
As an American casual style restaurant, Vach describes Longboard as having both Californian and Mexican influences. Their menu is unique to the area in a manner that Vach calls "upscale casual," with a pub-friendly daytime menu as well as an upscale nighttime menu. Besides their menu, Longboard is recognized for their kind staff that has been around for years. This core group of staff members makes for incredible service and great relationships with regular and new customers. When stepping into Longboard, you can expect to immediately feel welcome, making for a friendly environment to enjoy amazing food.

Longboard Cafe is known for dishes such as their famous Wrinkled Green Beans with secret sweet sauce, Longboard Wings (winner of Best Wings in OC four years in a row), and an award winning selection of burgers. Their wintertime specials include half-priced burgers and tacos on Mondays, comfort items like Chicken and Dumplings on Wednesdays, and prime rib nights every Sunday. They are closed on Tuesdays.

PAWS for People (Pet-Assisted Visitation Volunteer Services, PAWS), according to their website, is a nonprofit organization with the goal of providing therapeutic visits to anyone in the community who might benefit from interaction with a well-trained pet. They put a strong emphasis on providing individualistic experiences for each person they visit, separating them from other pet therapy services. PAWS is mostly active throughout Delaware, but serve other areas including southern Pennsylvania, northeast Maryland, and southern New Jersey.
