EAGLE HABITAT AT RISK IN BAYSIDE DEVELOPMENT
Carl M. Freeman Associates is planning to build 25+ additional homes in the woods behind the Coastal Crossing neighborhood, the area which is also home to a family of eagles. This plan has been approved by Sussex County Planning and Zoning and the Sussex County Council. Approval still needs to come from DNREC (the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control) and from USFWS (the US Fish and Wildlife Service). If you are anxious to share your opinion of this new housing plan, you can contact the Ecological Services Department/Migratory Bird Office of the USFWS at 413-254-8200 or DNREC by emailing david.saveikis@delaware.gov.
