RD38 MONTHLY MEETING, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 2ND 7PM, ON ZOOM
Our regular meeting will be on Zoom at 7. We expect three guests to speak briefly. All three are candidates for the Vice-Chair positions (2) of the Delaware Democratic Party. We expect them to discuss their qualifications and their vision for where the Party should be heading. There may be further candidates for those positions, and there are other positions as well. All will be filled at the State Convention on June 12th.
RD38 has 11 Delegates for the upcoming convention on Saturday June 12th. We only have 2 Alternates. In case our named Delegates encounter conflicts that prevent their attendance (all on Zoom), then the Alternates can take their place. But, 2 Alternates might not be enough. We will solicit additional volunteers at the June 2nd meeting, and potentially vote on them. A motion will be made at the meeting to allow the Chair to solicit and appoint additional alternates, beyond those that step up before or at the meeting, should that be needed.
Delores Clark is coordinating the item collection for the 2021 Dem-a-Thon. She would like a comparable or better set of items for the 2021 auction compared to the 2020 auction. If you have something that might be appropriate to donate, please contact Delores at email@example.com or 914 450-9505. For reference, you can see a list of the 2020 auction items at link.
CONVENTION – RULES CHANGES & SUGGESTIONS
Any Democrat can submit ideas for rules changes. So far, the proposed 2021 rules are a tweaking of the rules adopted in 2019. The proposed rules are posted at link. Another page discusses the 2019 rules revision (link). That page also has a link for submitting proposals for rule changes, but that is a dead link. Use this link instead.
