RD38 WEEKLY UPDATE
August 29, 2021.
RD38 MONTHLY MEETING SEPTEMBER 1ST ON ZOOM
The meeting will start at 7 pm.  The draft Agenda is available online (pdf or docx).  The draft minutes to the August meeting are available online (pdf or docx).  The guest speaker previously announced (RD26 Representative Madinah Wilson-Anton) has had to cancel her appearance.  There are two atypical agenda items.  One is the discussion and election of additional RD38 Committee People.  The other is the discussion of and possible adoption of two Resolutions on future financial contributions by RD38 to candidates (see following).  All Democrats are welcome at RD38 meetings but advance registration is required.  Here is the Zoom registration link.
RD38 POLICY FOR CONTRIBUTIONS TO CANDIDATE CAMPAIGNS
Two proposals have been prepared for an RD38 policy on contributions to candidate campaigns in the coming years.  The proposals are available online.  One proposal was drafted by Tom Salonick and the other by Claire Simmers.  Both proposals, in one document, are available as pdf or docx

Last week I suggested that to facilitate a productive discussion, meeting attendees read the proposals ahead of the meeting and consider submitting comments ahead of the meeting.  A few area Democrats have submitted comments and these have been assembled and posted as pdf and docx.
OUTREACH COMMITTEE LETTER
For consideration at the September 1 meeting is a draft letter addressed to area Democrats prepared by the Outreach Committee.  You can access is in both pdf and docx form.
RON GRAY’S CITIZEN SURVEY
We have been encouraged to respond to Ron Gray’s Citizen Survey so that he might see some responses from the spectrum of his constituents.  I’m not crazy about the survey, as the permitted answers are not nuanced – no surprise there.  Here is a link if you want to try: link.
