Welcome to the first edition of THE BEACON. This quarterly newsletter serves as part of The Village Chapel’s commitment to improve communication and will provide service information as well as an introduction to Chapel committees and programs.     Any suggestions on the content and format are welcome.

2019 will be an exciting year for the Chapel. Along with renewing our commitment to better communication, we are adding programming for children in the summer months, strengthening our outreach programs, and actively recruiting volunteers for our various Chapel committees and ministries. If you would like to be more involved, please reach out to me, any of our Board members, or our Chapel Administrator, Pattie Caban.

Over the past few weeks, I have spoken with many homeowners and visitors about The Village Chapel.  One long time resident put it best, "The Chapel is an essential piece of life on Bald Head Island, and one of the things that makes this such a special place."

Peace & grace,

Mary Jo Walker

Spotlight on our Administrator

Pattie Caban serves as our Administrator and one of the first smiling faces you see in The Village Chapel. Pattie works with the community, the board, vendors, ministers, and visitors who find her in the office Tuesday through Friday. Originally from upstate New York, Pattie and her husband, Randy, live in Southport and are parents of three sons and five grandchildren. If you have not met Pattie, stop by the office and say hello! You will be glad you did.
A gift of beautiful new Communion Linens was received  in honor of Pat Lammert and her many years of service to the Chapel.  Pat assisted in  so many ways, and her kind and faithful leadership is greatly missed.  Warmest wishes to Pat and Larry in their new home in Wilmington.
