Happy Holidays!
As we start to count down the days remaining this year, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the great work we have completed together as partners in the Living, Learning, and Earning Longer Collaborative in 2021. No question, the last 20 months and counting have been very challenging for many of us. Across the globe, we are facing circumstances we could not have predicted or even imagined, and we are racing to adapt to a new normal.
Moments like this remind us that we are all connected and that there is tremendous value in sharing information – a key feature and benefit of LLEL that can help us weather these challenging times. I fundamentally believe that we have the capacity to change the world. Periods of profound disruption can uncover new sources of strength and resilience. New ideas and solutions can emerge.
The Collaborative remains focused on workforce trends and evolving issues of our time. Our goal continues to be helping corporations prosper by centering workforce and workplace policy development around age inclusivity to promote all employees’ quality of work and quality of life. By investing in your employees in ways that value them both as human beings and as contributors to the bottom line, you garner resilience. An age-diverse workforce with experienced team members can bring thoughtful and innovative solutions to play at your companies as we shift into the next phase of the pandemic and later, into recovery.
Our peer to peer conversations have highlighted each other’s powerful insights and promising practices as we all manage a changing workplace environment. The pandemic has underscored not only the importance of the Collaborative’s work but also our opportunity to co-create policies and practices that support and sustain a multigenerational workforce, as well as the corporate bottom-line, sustainability, and business continuity.
This Collaborative helped to design and release our Growing with Age  platform, which is the first global effort to harness the age-inclusive workforce as a powerful source for economic growth. This free interactive platform is the only tool available to help employers understand why they should embrace longevity and how they can do it. The Growing with Age platform is the culmination of the LLEL Collaborative's expertise, and it elevates the best practices and policies of global employers and firms.
I am humbled that this platform was recognized by Fast Company’s World Changing Ideas Awards, and I hope that even more organizations take advantage of this novel tool.

In 2022, we will continue to host regularly scheduled Collaborative meetings. We also have some amazing programming and thought leadership events and opportunities in the works (so stay tuned).
