Hello from Austin,

I'm hanging my head in shame. I promised to send out a regular (I might even have said weekly) newsletters ... um ... yeah, that was last May.

The good news is I'm not dead, the bad news is that some of you thought I was. Nope, I'm still kicking and writing, but I'm the worst newsletter sender in the history of terrible newsletter senders.
Here's what's going on so far this year at Casa Graykowski ...

You will all be happy to know that I'm sticking to my New Year's Resolution to not make New Year's Resolutions so 2020 should be smooth sailing.
What is Katie reading this week?
cI just finished The Never Game by Jeffery Deaver.

If you love suspense that keeps you guessing until the end, check out Jeffery Deaver. https://amzn.to/2TSeshk

I first found Jeffery Deaver when I was a corporate trainer for a medical software company back in the 1990's. I traveled 100% of the time and Jeffery Deaver's The Coffin Dancer was the only book in the airport bookstore that I hadn't read.

Traveling for work is glamours for the first two weeks. After the newness wears off, all that's left are delayed flights, rent cars that smell like fake Christmas Trees, and hotel rooms that look the same in Dallas as they do in Seattle. I did get to go to the Grammys once, or well, I got to stand across the street and watch famous people go to the Grammys. The parking lot attendant, who I gave $10.00 so I could park in the reserved lot, told me that I was parked next to Will Smith's car so there's that.
What is Katie binge-watching?

I probably shouldn't tell anyone this, but I just watched Netflix's The Confession Killer about Henry Lee Lucas. Georgetown, Texas (just north of where I live) was Henry Lee Lucas Central for a while. All I took away from the series was that Henry Lee Lucas was too stupid to kill all of those people. Don't get me started on lazy law enforcement.

Little known fact, most serial killers have a BELOW average IQ. I think Henry's was below-er than the below average of most serial killer.

When Mustang Ridge’s son goes off to middle school, all she wants to do is drown her anxiety with a gallon of coffee and a dozen red velvet cupcakes. Unfortunately, someone has bought all of the cupcakes at Lakeside Cupcakes except for the nasty vegan ones. She may be desperate, but she’s not that desperate. As she walks back to her car, something large falls from the sky and crashes onto the roof of her car.

It’s a body.

It seems like she’s always stumbling over bodies, but now they’re falling from the sky?

The body currently acting as her new hood ornament turns out to be Marty Smith, the man everyone hates … especially, Jill, the owner of Lakeside Cupcakes. After she’s arrested for his murder, she offers Mustang a lifetime supply of free cupcakes if she finds out who really killed Marty.

Mustang and the girls are on the case. They start questioning suspects and have a hard to finding anyone who doesn’t want Marty dead.

After diving into Marty’s life, Mustang is convinced that whoever killed him did the world a favor. But a lifetime of free cupcakes is a lifetime of free cupcakes so she keeps investigating.

What do a Voodoo Priestess, a possible serial killer with a Barbie fetish, and the island of Bonaire have in common? Mustang must figure it out before Marty’s killer finds her.
