Brothers and sisters, greeting from Grand Rapids!!! :) 

WE MADE IT!

Back in June, after waving a hard and emotional goodbye to our DTS home and packed up all the precious memories for 6 years, our family embarked on a new journey led by God with a new and grand assignment. As we were walking in the shoes of Israelites, the Lord went before us to lead us in a pillar of cloud by day and to guide us in a pillar of fire by night. 

3 days of sojourning and more than 20 hours driving later, we arrived in Grand Rapids, Michigan on June 15th. Phew... Memories made and family is save!  Praise our Father from whom all blessings flow! 

We'd like you to give you a quick family update, ministry update and praise & prayer points for August. As always, thank you so much for journeying with us to support us financially and pray for us without ceasing. We couldn't have served the kingdom without your partnership in the Gospel. Thank you fam! 
 
Family Updates
Farewell Dallas
We praise God for giving us an incredible and transformative season in Dallas to redeem our filthiness into righteousness, turn our broken mess into a beautiful message, form us into the likeness of Christ and to equip us to serve the kingdom of God. He is so faithful! Below is just a small glance of what God has done and will continue to do in and through our family. 

6 years.
3 degrees. 
3 black belts.
2 graduations.
1 ordination.
1 son. 
1 anointing army of God. 

Countless failures.
Numerous redemptions. 

The end of an era. 
The beginning of the Lord’s new assignment. 

Home is not where you came from.
Home is not where you are going to.
Home is where Christ is.
Praise Him.

To God be the ultimate glory! 
 
Jocelyn's graduation
3 years of dedication has led to transformation with a massive celebration and now congratulations to this super mama!!!

In the past 3 years, I (Ric) could not be more thrilled and thankful to sit behind this super mama (the front row seat) to witness the incredible work of God to intervene in and through this God-fearing and scripture-loving woman to push, pause and persevere till the end to knock down this long and hard-fought season where she got to accomplish her “cross-county thesis” worked in Germany, Switzerland, Italy and eventually submitted in France at 5:30am before the deadline at 6am. WOW! This could-not-be-prouder-husband is in awe of God’s diligence and resilience manifested in her. Free at last. Victory is won. Master is earned. Mommy is done. YAY! Thank you Jesus. 😁

God has used this season of preparation at Dallas Theological Seminary to teach us, stretch us and humble us in so many ways. We are standing on the shoulders of so many faithful men and women who have gone before us to pray and support us in each step of the way. Studying and learning under the professors at DTS has equipped us for decades of ministry to come. As we continue the journey of faith, we will deeply miss friends here and yet we are reminded that this is not a landing place, but a launching pad where God uses and sends us out to share the love of Jesus to the world and beyond. This is only the beginning and let’s go to war!!! 🔥🔥🔥
 
Ric's ordination
May 22, 2022 is marked as an Ebenezer of God’s grace for eternality to remember. Ric was humbly affirmed by the congregation and ordinated by the elders at Icon church. 

It is a miracle. If you only knew… What is man that you are mindful of him? From an enemy of God to a child of God, a punk who loves the world to a preacher who loves the Word and a seeker of faith to a minister of the Gospel.

My life is not and will never be my own, but His, a doulos stirred and anointed by the love of Christ for a lifetime service consecrated and committed to bringing Him all the honor, praise and glory.

Thank you family for loving me, believing in me, investing in me, praying for me and celebrating with me. What a glorious gift. God to be praised. To God be the glory and this is just the beginning! 
Ministry Updates
Ric's trip #1: South Asia 
DFW bound
Exciting update to share with y’all as we are taking our time to adapt ourselves in the new city, the mission of God has continued to move and advance. 

8/12-19: Ric will be sent by LIFE International to South Asia for his first international assignment to host the training of the sanctity of life and to serve the local leaders and train the pastors. 

8/11-8/22: Jocelyn and kids have been graciously given an opportunity to fly back to Dallas (first time with daddy) to have 20+ meetings with donors, ministry partners and connecting with professors for the potential partnership with Life International. On top of it, attending two weddings. FUN! 

As we are going separated ways, we are in desperate need of you fam entering the battle field with us and pray for us throughout the trip! 🙏🏼🙏🏼

• Pray for God to go before us with our body, soul and spirit to be prepared to enter the battle field.
• Pray for God to speak through us with anointing of the spirit to prepare the hearts to receive His messages.
• Pray for God to minister with us through the spiritual and physical protection for our family and people we meet.
• Pray for God to guard our heart with the transcending peace of God in the time of traveling.
• Pray for our family to be a blessing no matter where we go and who we meet.
• Pray for our total dependence on Jesus to find favor in God’s sight.

Mission field: Westown apartment
Jocelyn and the Sun kids are thriving living in our new apartment with the knowledge of 95% of the residents do not go to church. They are urged to take every given opportunity to advance the Gospel as the illumination of Christ by, this time, co-hosting an appreciation lunch for the apartment staff. 

The staff said it has never happened before and they were so glad that our family is living here. We should tell them we are so glad that God has brought us here! 🙃

It is so humbling and encouraging to see Jocelyn and kids to live incarnationally or in brother Lawrence’s word, practice the presence of God, or late pastor Eugene Peterson’s word, like Jesus move into the neighborhood. We really believe we were sent by God to illuminate the light of Christ in this community because so many of them do not know our savior. Please pray with us for the love of God to be demonstrated through the lives of our family, so they will see the beauty of Jesus and their salvation will come very soon.

We also pray for you to be a great blessing to anywhere God has sent you whether it’s at home, work place, grocery store, gas station, on the flight, park, boba tea place or coffee shop. Let’s not slow down and keep up the kingdom work to share Jesus’ name and spread God’s fame! 🔥🔥
