Hello Autumn ? Winter

Thank goodness the worst of the heat is over, (at least we hope so).

As we breathe a …‘sigh’… of relief and start looking forward to comfort foods like casseroles, roasts and soups, cabbage rolls and pasta, Yum!!! Let’s see what else is happening around our area…

May things are happening around the Centre for these next two months which is, end of year for the financial sector, this means Tax Help will be back some-time in July so check our Face-book page for time and dates.

Family Support Program is charging ahead with all of its activities like homework club and playgroup. FSP also run programs like Triple P parenting programs and Well-being programs.
We have the new ONEROOF project which is working with the homeless, providing a range of allied services to assist those marginalised in our community

Have a good read of the newsletter, you may find something of interest for you, be it volunteering for one program or another, of finding a group you would like to join, like Yoga or the Women’s Friendship Group; you never know what’s out there!

So enjoy this time of the year, one of the best seasons on the Sunshine Coast and open yourselves to new ideas and projects.

How about an early spring clean of the wardrobes and cupboards? Makes you feel good.

Things to know

By now, some of you would have noticed some maintenance work going on around the centre.

Challenge Employment received a grant from Skilling Queenslanders for Work, to teach Construction Cert 1, and are therefore using the centre for their practical course carrying out much needed maintenance.

Utilising a small amount of funds that the Maroochy Neighbourhood Centre Inc. has, we have been able to purchase the materials enabling us to undertake some maintenance without the cost of labour, which saves us many 10’s of thousands of dollars.

The guys and one girl are excellent, courteous, polite and respectful of the Centre. They are doing a great job, and the Centre is starting to look fresh and springly sprung inside and out.

Thank you to Challenge Employment for choosing the Centre as a project for the training course you are currently delivering.
