Conquering the Challenges of COVID-19
As a result of Covid, our teachers and students have shifted their schedules, learning, and teaching methods multiple times this year. Chelsea teachers have championed these shifts in ways we never dreamed would be needed. On top of reimaging what teaching and learning would look like in the virtual format and the hybrid format, our teachers requested the Chelsea Education Foundation's support to provide funding for unique learning opportunities for our students.
With the generous support of donors in our community, the Chelsea Education Foundation provided a grant for South Meadows to purchase ukuleles for all 5th-grade students. In a normal year, students usually share instruments, which was not possible this year. This grant allows our virtual students to have a ukulele at home and our hybrid students to take back and forth for their music classes.
The Chelsea Education Foundation also provided a grant for our elementary art students to have their own art kit for art class. To keep our young artists creating, whether they were at home or in the building (but not able to share supplies), our art teachers requested funding to help us purchase an art kit for every elementary student. `
We are truly grateful for the support our community provides through generous donations to the Chelsea Education Foundation. This support has made so many things possible for our students and staff, even during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
