Are you a Film Co-op member in good standing and are interested in getting more involved with the NBFC behind the scenes? We are looking for volunteer members for our 2 committees and 8 advisory groups. Terms are for 1 year, and they run from September to August. Work on a committee or advisory group counts towards your volunteer hours. Meetings are online to be inclusive. There are guidelines for the groups who were specifically created to help the staff.

Silver Wave Film Festival Deadline has PASSED.
Before we know it, the 2022 annual Silver Wave Film Festival will be upon us, running November 3-10 (3-6 will be in person, and virtual screenings will be available until November 10th.

New Member - Vladimir Filin
Vladimir Filin is a director of photography, camera operator, and camera technician.
Education:
(VGIK) All-Russian University of Cinematography.
Cinema studios Mosfilm – Cameraman\1AC courses.
Vladimir has shot commercials, and short films. He has a good eye for composition and lighting, and has experience with hand-held camera work. Vladimir is also an excellent colourist and can grade his content.

Member Updates: Brenda Malley

Brenda Malley has received funding through Bell Media to shoot an 8-episode, 8-10 minute per episode series called The Town Clown. Production will take place mainly in Oromocto over six months, one weekend per month beginning September 24th, 2022. It will air on Bell Fibe 1 in the fall of 2023. Saint John Member Brian Finlay and Drawn To It Studios have been hired to provide all technical production and post-production needs.

2022 NB Cell Phone Film Challenge is Coming UP!
The 2022 NB Cell Phone Film Challenge is a chance to do just that and create a movie with the amazing tool you carry all the time: your cell phone! You really don’t need fancy equipment to make a film, you just need your cell phone and a story. This challenge puts everyone on a level playing field where no one has any of that fancy, expensive filmmaking stuff. It’s just you, your phone and your wild creative spirit.
Who can enter?
All residents of NB of any age can participate!
How much does it cost to enter?
It is FREE!
Is there a big red carpet event?
No…. but there is a $100 prize for the best film as selected by our panel of judges!
How does this work?
Step 1: Put together a team of 1-3 NB residents.
Step 2: Register from July 8 until August 25 at www.kenlarproductions.com.
Step 3: On Thursday August 25 at 6:00pm you will receive an inspiration package from which to create your film and the 72 hour countdown begins.
Step 4: Write your script. Shoot it. Edit it. Upload it (link will be provided) by Sunday August 28 at 6:00pm.
