Dear Seawolf Families,

Yesterday, we sent an email communication to all students, providing information on how they can receive their COVID-19 vaccine this Friday and Saturday at Stony Brook. Below is a brief summary of the details we shared with your student:

We are pleased to offer all registered students two opportunities to receive a COVID-19 vaccination at our Stony Brook Union Point of Distribution (POD) on Friday, April 16 and Saturday, April 17. The vaccines being offered are Pfizer and Moderna.

Please encourage your student to sign up as soon as possible. Because supplies are limited, we cannot guarantee they will get an appointment. This vaccination is open to all registered Stony Brook University students whether they live on campus or not.

  • Pfizer vaccine: 16 years of age and older
    • First dose: Friday, April 16 from 9am to 3pm
    • Second dose: Friday, May 7
  • Moderna vaccine: 18 years of age and older
    • Saturday, April 17 from 8am to 4pm
    • Second dose: Saturday, May 15

Since both of these vaccines require two doses, please make sure the second dose aligns with your student’s final exam schedule. There is no flexibility in scheduling these automatic appointments for second doses. Resident students who are getting a second dose on May 7 or May 15 will be permitted to stay in their residence hall for 48 hours after their second dose, even if they’re done with finals.

Students can register using the following links:

Students must bring their Stony Brook ID, any required documents indicated in the confirmation email as well as a printed copy of the New York State Consent Form.

Please encourage your student to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and help protect themselves and others in our community.
