4-H Year Update :
If you have not submitted these forms please do so!
The new 4-H program year started on August 1st! Although some things will look different this year because of COVID-19, the fundamentals of 4-H have not changed! Georgia 4-H has implemented some guidelines and protocols to ensure the health and safety of youth, volunteers, and staff.
What can you do to prepare for the new 4-H program year? We need updated paperwork on all students. Fill out the following forms and return them to the Houston County Extension Office (801 Main Street | Perry, GA 31069) or scan and email them to us at firstname.lastname@example.org

Club Meeting Update:
4th-5th Grade 4-H'ers:
You will be having your clubs virtually in the classroom. Your teachers have received videos that have the newsletter update and your lesson for the month!

6th-12th Grade 4-H'ers:
We invite you to our meeting on Monday, October 5th at the Sonic Restaurant on Hwy 96. At this meeting your child will get to meet other 4-H'ers, engage in minute to win it games, participate in community service projects and plan events for the year!

Upcoming Events for Middle and High School!
Calling all 6th-8th graders:
Junior Conference brings together 4-H delegations from across the state of Georgia, giving the chance to meet new friends across county lines. 4-H'ers will engage in hands-on workshops and educational sessions, participate in recreation and hear a performance from Georgia 4-H Clovers and Company.

Calling all 9th-12th Grade 4-H'ers:
Join us for 2020 Weekend in the Classic City: Everyone Has a Place! Weekend in the Classic City is a future-focused virtual program for high school aged 4-H’ers to explore pathways to higher education. In conjunction with Georgia Collegiate 4-H Chapters, this event showcases the University of Georgia, in Athens, and allows youth to gather a firsthand experience of campus and higher education.
All participants registered for the event will receive supplies in a package mailed to their county 4-H office.
Register by October 28th to reserve your spot. Registration is $10.

Upcoming Events for 4th-6th Graders!
We are looking for 4th-6th graders to compete at Cloverleaf Project Achievement on November 19th in Tifton, GA! This competition is so much fun and gives you the chance to showcase your talents and interest. Whether you want to perfect your public speaking, want to preform for judges or show off your culinary skills, there is something for everyone!

Upcoming Events for EVERYONE!
We are excited to be having an archery team this year! Come to the interest meeting to find out more information about our team! The meeting will be October 19th at 6:30pm. Spaces on the team are limited. The fees for the team are $90. All other information will be provided to you at the meeting.
Many of our 4-H'ers have expressed interest in learning new languages and about other cultures! If you are interested in diversity and opening the windows to the world, join us on October 14th for our 1st ever cultural club meeting. This club will meet once a month, dates will be announced at the 1st meeting.

Houston County 4-H is so excited to start a Happy Hoppers Rabbit club! We are going to have so much fun learning about different breed, rabbit nutrition, how to take care of a rabbit and even some tips on showing them! This club will meet at least once a month and is opened to all 4th-12th graders!
You do not need to have a rabbit to be in the club.
The meeting is October 13th at 3:00pm on the lawn at the 4--H office. 801 Main Street | Perry, GA 31069.

Horse club is coming back! Join us for another year of fun and education! First meeting is October 20th at 6:00pm at Sandbed Stables. Please bring your $20 annual fee with you.
You do not have to own a horse to be in the club.
