Here’s what’s happening now:

Mailed ballots postmarked on Election Day or before will be accepted until Nov. 12. 

Consistent with what you've seen from the state elections board's communications, a US Supreme Court decision will allow mail-in ballots postmarked on Election Day to be accepted as late as Nov. 12, the News & Observer reports.

The rules around this election have included a few court cases and challenges. The remaining question was how late mail-in ballots can be accepted. That's now resolved. 

What else to know:

☑️ Vote early: Today and Friday you can vote 8 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Saturday you can vote 8 a.m.-3 p.m. [locations] + [why you should vote early]

Nights of Lights announced: Artsplosure, WRAL and the City of Raleigh will host a drive-through at Dorothea Dix Park from Dec. 16 to New Year's Eve.
