It's daffodil season at Dix Park!

It's that time of year where thousands of daffodils -- 50,000 of them -- bloom at Dorothea Dix Park.

They're beginning to blossom now, so if you're ready to get an early look, here's how to do it:

Where: Navigate to the Flower Cottage off Umstead Drive to see the daffodils and that gorgeous Downtown Raleigh skyline.

Park: If you're going during the weekday, public parking is at the soccer fields off Hunt Drive. Don't park in the NC Dept. of Health and Human Services spots.

When: Your best bets, based on the weather, will be Wednesday, Friday or Saturday, with Saturday looking sunniest. Today and Thursday are likely to be rainy.

Editor's note: Friday's newsletter misstated the location of the Museum After Dark event. It was scheduled for the NC Museum of History.

A new event series for Raleigh innovators: At the State of the Region at HQ Friday, Lithios founder DeShawn Brown announced a new series from Triangle Innovation Hub. The "Meet Me There" series kicks off March 12 at Loading Dock's Dock 1053 location. Its goal is to better connect the entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem.

Fact check: If you're registered to vote on March 3 but unaffiliated, you can choose a party's ballot. If you're registered with a political party, you can only vote on that party's ballot. This fact check comes after a misleading mailer was delivered to North Carolina voters. [WRAL]
