Here’s what’s happening now:

COVID-19 vaccinations have begun for those 75 and older in the area by local hospital systems.  

However, vaccines are still limited, and so are appointments for those in Phase 1b, group 1. 

The latest:

WakeMed announced Monday it will begin offering vaccination appointments to primary care patients 75 and older. The health system will also offer a drive-through clinic in Raleigh, by appointment. 

Duke Health announced last week that it's begun vaccinations for those 75+, but only in its Duke University location in Durham.

UNC Health announced COVID-19 vaccination appointments began Monday for Phase 1b, but the online tool for appointments only had a time available in Eden, more than an hour and a half away from Raleigh. 

Wake County Public Health said over the weekend that a public health clinic will begin COVID-19 vaccinations this month, with a tool for online appointments and hotline for appointments by phone launching Jan. 19. [read more]
