5 tips to help you stick to your resolutions!

It's a new year and you have a resolution you'd like to commit to. Here's how.

We all know that having intentions to make a resolution is easy, but sticking with it does prove to be the harder part of the task.

So how does one stay on the right track?

Slow down and meditate: Going at a slow pace will pave the way for mental clarity, the report says. Meditation allows for focus on the goals within your resolution.

Ask others to keep you accountable: Whatever your resolution is, you don't have to go at it alone. UAB says that having someone to check in with and check on you as you do your best to complete your resolution is key to reaching success. Just asking a loved one to periodically ask you how things are going to keep you headed toward your resolution can do wonders.

Schedule in time to achieve goals: To put it quite simply, make time don't try and find it. UAB points out that scheduling time throughout your day dedicated to your resolution will have better results. It's better than finding time, such as at the end of a long workday with personal needs to tend to and your family as well. Make your actions toward your resolution part of your daily routine.

Document your progress: Writing down your thoughts as you go on your journey toward achieving your resolution is a big part of your success, the report says. It allows you to organize and acknowledge your successes and challenges, this way as you look back you can see the progress you've made.

Reward yourself for achievements: UAB says to look at a reward for yourself with this example: If you’ve stuck to your resolution of saving $1,000 a month for the past three months, treat yourself by buying something small that you’ve been wanting for a long time. The report also says occasional rewards provide proof your resolution plan is working.

Do each move for 45 seconds/ 15 seconds of rest. Repeat the exercise twice.

Tragedy on Christmas Day

I woke up on 12/26 to a text from my friend Dana, who also owns the cycle studio where I teach every Sunday morning, Northeast Cycle. It simply said, "I won't be at the studio in the morning. My house just burnt down." I couldn't believe what I was reading... until I drove by her house on the way to the studio. This woman lost nearly everything, including four of her precious cats, and on Christmas Day no less. I'm literally crying just writing this right now! She is one of the nicest, most giving people I have ever met. If you can spare anything please help Dana and her mother to rebuild what they have lost.
