I am happy to report that CREP is enjoying acknowledgement for the years of hard work carving out best practices and enhancing recognition for registered exercise professionals.  Our successes span across all registered professionals. In strength and conditioning, CREP has provided guidance and leadership to the Intercollegiate Council on Sports Medicine task force for student athlete safety by developing research-based recommendations for the NCAA regarding optimal practices, injury reporting, education standards, and the credentialing for strength coaches. Pilates has started down the road of collegial communications with partner registers considering evolving to the comprehensive level. For the personal trainer and group instructors, new standards are being released that represent a global view of the job role and what it takes to be qualified as a professional at those registration levels. CREP is also working with IHRSA and the World Health Organization to promote UFIT, a global movement toward achieving broader inclusiveness in health and fitness for all. As part of this partnership, CREP will participate in the release of the new global standards at the International Confederation of Registers for Exercise Professionals’ (ICREPs) Fall meeting. Exciting times with more to come – stay informed.

CREP provides the “Find Me At” badge to identify a registered exercise professional. The badge indicates the professional is a leader who can assist in safely and effectively facilitating client goals of achieving more active, healthy lifestyles through movement, physical activity or exercise for recreation or performance. The badge also provides a visual mechanism employers and clients can use to easily verify certification(s) status.

As healthcare increasingly focuses on preventing and treating obesity and costly chronic conditions, exercise professionals are logical members of the healthcare team. CREP and our Member Organizations intend to help YOU make structured physical activity accessible, appealing and affordable to people of all ages, interests and abilities.
