July 2020
Monument Family,

Dana and I recently spent a day basking in the summer heat and refreshing water at Lake Minatare. I don’t know what it is about floating on an inflatable raft in a lake or ocean, but over the years it’s been the place where I’m drawn into the Lord’s presence and where my soul experiences a special sabbath rest.

Our recent outing reminded me of Jesus’ invitation to the apostlesCome with me privately to an isolated place and rest a while” (Mark 6:31)—Jesus acknowledged the need for us to get away for some much needed rest that will refresh us body and soul. We’ve been living in an unprecedented time that is emotionally, physically, and spiritually exhausting. Rest is part of God’s created order and I hope you’ll enjoy an ongoing refreshment & rest of His presence during this summer season even if that “place” is a quiet corner of your house, a walking path, pasture, vacation, backyard, or floating in a lake.

Please take a few minutes to read this month’s newsletter that contains some exciting news and updates. We’re in the process of relaunching several of our ministries as we prepare for the fall. We will continue to worship in the gym this month but look forward to returning to the sanctuary as soon as possible. Thanks again for your prayers, patience, and sacrificial giving as we’ve navigated life together during a global pandemic.

We love and miss those of you who haven’t returned to public worship each week but are so glad you’re able to worship with us online. The Lord has been so faithful and gracious. His mercies are new every morning, and we are sustained by His presence and the hope of His return to restore all things. Let’s continue to hold fast to Him, love deeply, and point others to the hope that is in Him. We have one mission as a church—to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28)—I pray we’ll be found faithful in the task of developing dedicated followers of Jesus Christ who worship, grow, love, and share all for the glory of God. I love you…Serve Him well!
Pastor Jeff

Is there someone God has laid on your heart to minister to during this time? A friend? A co-worker? A neighbor? A fellow church member?

Reserve a Blessing Box for them! We still have some available! The church has been given the opportunity to receive boxes of food that include produce, dairy and meat through "Farmers to Families." We will have 4 truck deliveries over the next couple months, with enough food in EACH delivery to feed 20 families.

Here is what each family will receive in the boxes: Produce: Head of Lettuce, 1lb Carrots, 1 lb onions, 1 lb celery, 5 lb potatoes, pint grape tomatoes, 2 lb peaches Dairy: Milk, 16 oz. cottage cheese, 16 oz. sour cream, sleeve of 6 oz. yogurts, 1 lb cheese Meat: 5 lb chicken breast, 5 lb chicken nuggets, 2 lb boloney

1. Determine a family (or families) you would like to serve and reserve boxes for them (in your name) by going here: (We have enough for 15 families in each of the delivery, so sign up soon to reserve the boxes).
