Uncovering a €200 bn Money Laundering Scandal

Journalist Eva Jung from Danish newspaper Berlingske will open this year’s conference with a keynote on how she and two colleagues uncovered one of history’s biggest money laundering cases.

European Weapons in Middle East Conflicts
Hatched at the EIJC! Great journalism grows out of conference networking! At the 2018 EIJC Conference, German reporter Hans-Martin Tillack from Stern met Dutch reporter Ludo Hekman from Lighthouse Reports. Both had researched how arms from their native countries turned up in Middle Eastern armed conflicts. A cooperation began and now also involves British Bellingcat, German ARD and Deutsche Welle. Hear about the cooperation and learn the methods to follow your country's weapons to the world's conflict zones.

Local journalism goes cross-border

Local journalism is not always about local-only issues. Increasingly, the same issues are relevant in more cities and countries, and journalists benefit from liaising with colleagues in other areas. We highlight the new cooperations and how they work. Our main focus is on housing and how international conglomerates are buying up Europe’s cities and making it very expensive for ordinary people to live there.

Lots of learning

We have 3 tracks of dedicated training in store - plus several pre-conference masterclasses to go in-depth. See the program
