The Sunday race was a traditional 2 run SL with another strong field and great representation for Far West Masters racers.
Mt Rose McKinney Cup
Our second race weekend in February took us to Mt. Rose for the famed McKinney Cup GS races on Silver Dollar. The long and challenging GS course was well prepared and the Mt. Rose race crew did an excellent job all weekend. Tamara McKinney dropped by during the second run and it did not take too much persuasion for her to pull on a forerunner bib and show us how it's done.
After the race was finished on Sundy everyone retired to the Winters Creel Lodge for snacks and drinks, After the prizegiving for the age class and open competition Rees Palermo told a little of the history of the McKinney Cup before introducing Tamara McKinney who shared some stores about her family and then presented the McKinney to this years winners, Liesl Panke and Mihai Filimon. Congratulations Liesl and Mihai.
