The KS Kenda Women are staying busy with various bike projects through quarantine. We have decided to divide and conquer our updates. This time around it's Jen's turn to give an update, so here you go!

Bonding with the Fur and Feather Fam

With the decrease in race travel, I am taking advantage of the time at home to bond with all my pets (two dogs, one cat, eight chickens). I absolutely love traveling to different locations and often wish that I could bring the whole farm with me -- that would be a sight -- and this little break has let me spend more quality time with them both in training and post-ride snuggles! On top of smothering my pets with love, I have been working on growing an epic garden, something that I have dreamt about for years. Get pumped for a constant stream of homegrown post-ride food posts!

Touring Ohio on my Pivot Vault - Self Supported Exploration Through Training

With no set date on when racing will return, I have been able to enjoy the adventure aspect of training which has really been a rewarding experience. Previously, my long rides consisted of ample gas station stops to allow me to carry the bare minimum for my ride; the focus was on the ride and hitting the numbers. Now when I embark on my long rides I make sure to pack anything and everything I need to avoid stops and ensure that I can be self-sufficient. This has really changed the feel of my rides to be more of an epic adventure filled with pride and confidence!
On my latest gravel adventure, I equipped my Vault with six water bottles, enough tools and gear to fix just about anything, and food for days! To be exact, two homemade rice bars, six GU gels, and four GU chews. From smooth roads to 3-inch deep gravel to ATV trails, my Vault has been my adventure buddy. I can't wait to see what lies ahead for this weekend's Ohio gravel exploration adventures!
Fun fact: Every morning I take my Pivot Vault or Les out with Narwhal (Old English Sheepdog) and we ride around the backyard for 20 minutes. I don't know who gets more excited about getting my bikes out, her or me!
We hope everyone is doing well! We love seeing everybody's creativity shine as they find new ways to get out and ride (or not)!
