Alaska Farmers Market Association Summit 

Join us for our one-day summit and annual meeting from 8 AM to 5 PM. Registration is FREE - but required. Check the website soon - more details on speakers and workshops to come!

February 3rd & 10th,  2022-Collaborative Multi-State Farmers Market Manager Bootcamp

Washington, Oregon, Ohio, Utah, Idaho, and Alaska will come together for three days of training. The first two days will be 2.5 hours each and intensive, going over the ins and outs of running a market. Day three will be state-specific. Come to meet all the key players in Alaska's food system. 

Our Alaska State Day will be on April 8th - at the time of our Summit!

The registration is $75, of which AFMA will cover $50 - your cost is only $25/ per person.

Just hired? Just elected? Join us for the 2022 Farmers Market “Boot Camp.” Designed to move fast and cover the basics of running a farmers markets, you will get practical, grounded, and timely tools needed for opening day and beyond. Board members get a look behind the info booth to see what goes into market operations, as well as their role in sustaining a strong market organization and building a great team. Days 1 and 2 provide general farmers markets context, tools, and training.

Day 3 (AFMA Summit, April 8th)
 will be a new, “state-specific” day to introduce the agencies, partners, food access programs.

March 17-19th:
Alaska Food Festival and Conference

The Alaska Food Policy Council, Intertribal Agriculture Council, and University of Alaska Anchorage Dietetics and Nutrition Programs are partnering for the 6th semi-annual Alaska Food Festival and Conference. Keynote speakers Janie Simms Hipp (USDA), Eva Dawn Burke (UAF College of Rural and Community Development & The Alaska Center for Climate Assessment and Policy), and Helga Garcia-Garza (ED of Agricultura Network) will lead an incredible array of speakers and sessions over this three-day conference. 

The Alaska Farmers Market Association is a proud sponsor of this event and AFMA will be offering scholarships to Alaska Farmers Market vendors, farmers, and operators. Stay tuned for details...
