Hello Alaskan Farmers Market
Managers, Vendors, & Supporters!

We're seeing markets opening up, and preparing to do so, around the state! Our markets will look certainly look different this year, but one thing will remain the same: we're committed to selling Alaska Grown products direct to customers, now and always.

Our hardworking intern Meghan has been busy updating our website with your market listings.  If you haven't done so, please complete the survey no later than June 1st, as we'll do one more round of additions then.

This week our Farmers Market Community Chat will discuss touchless payment options for markets and market stands - details below! Can't make it? It will be recorded and available on our website.

We have some great resources for you below- Alaska Farmland graphics for market signage and outreach, Day 1 conference session recordings, updated DEC farmers market guidelines, and more. Keep us updated with stories as you open or visit your local farmers markets.

WOW!!! Alaska Farmland Trust always has our back!

Check out these amazing graphics they created for us! We have the full collection, with printable flyers available for download at the link below.  Be sure to give them credit, we're so lucky to have them on our team!

May 14th Edition: Touchless Payment Options for Markets & Farmstands
You don't have to handle cash if you don't want to! This week find out the pros and cons of using different forms of touchless payment option. There are ways to transfer money directly from credit cards, bank accounts, or digital wallets. We will have a panel of folks who have used a variety of different methods, so come ready to ask questions from people who have experience getting cash at fairs and onsite sales.

Hosted by AFMA, Homer Soil & Water Conservation District and Matanuska Experiment Farm & Extension Center

An opening day success at the South Anchorage Farmers Market!

Owner/Operator/Farmer Arthur Keyes gives an update:

"Happy Mother’s Day and thank you to all of our amazing customers for a successful opening day at the market yesterday. Also want to thank Robbie with the Alaska Farmers Market Association and Brad with the Tanana Valley Farmer's Market for working so hard to get our markets moving forward this year statewide under these challenging times. We know you have lots of choices when it comes to food and we thank you for choosing local. 🚜 👨‍🌾 🙏"

2020 Market Directory is live!

This summer, due to circumstances around COVID-19, we will not be able to do Meet Me at the Market. It’s more important than ever to make sure you fill out our market update survey so we can provide consumers up-to-date information about your market, making it easier for them to purchase locally.

If you haven't done so, contact meghan@inletkeeper.org to get added before the end of May!
