Commission Updates

The State Libraries, Archives, and Records Commission met on September 12, 2019, and approved revisions to the following retention schedules: Department of Charitable Gaming, Kentucky Horse Racing Commission, Kentucky Housing Corporation, Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives, Department of Professional Licensing, Department of Revenue, State University Model, and the Transportation Cabinet.

The Commission is the approving body of all records retention schedules. If you need to make a revision to your agency's schedule, contact your Records Analyst.

KDLA staff attended the 2019 Council of State Archivists (CoSA) - Society of American Archivists (SAA) Joint Annual Meeting held in Austin, Texas, in August. The conference provided excellent opportunities to meet with and learn from others in the archives and records management fields. CoSA and SAA offer valuable tools and resources related to archiving and records management.
We are offering general records management training workshops. These are standalone workshops that will cover topics such as records retention scheduling, managing electronic records, transferring records to KDLA, and destroying records.

The session will be held at KDLA (300 Coffee Tree Road, Frankfort) in the Activity Room on the following date:
  • Tuesday, October 22: 10:00a.m. – 1:00p.m.
    Locator Number: 72785
You may register through MyPURPOSE by searching for “KDLA Records Management: Policies and Procedures” or the Locator Number. If you have questions about registering, or if you are unable to attend in person but are interested in attending, email
