Northwestern Medicine and the Center for Health Equity Transformation endorsed the Black Maternal Health Momnibus, aimed at reducing disparities in maternal health outcomes. This congressional caucus was established to elevate the Black maternal health crisis and advance policy solutions to save lives.
"Northwestern's Center for Health Equity Transformation is proud to support the Black Maternal Health Momnibus because American mothers are dying at alarming rates with significant racial disparities. Many of these deaths are preventable by addressing the underlying determinants that drive health inequities such as discrimination, racism, and access to stable housing, transportation, healthy food, and other resources."
- Dr Melissa Simon, Faculty Director of the Center for Health Equity Transformation
