On Wednesday, August 7th, Senator Dick Durbin (IL) visited with students from across the Chicagoland area to discuss the need for increased medical research funding and the importance of training the next generation of health equity researchers. Students from CHASE Your Dreams, the ChicagoCHEC Fellowship, ResearcHStart, Feinberg School of Medicine, and Guide inquired about rising pharmaceutical prices, future diversification of the healthcare workforce, and ways to become involved in governmental advocacy and policy activities.

Social Justice Conference Monday, August 5, 2019 Hosted by the Center for Community Health Equity (DePaul and Rush Universities), CHET staff and Partner Howard Brown Health, had the opportunity to present a workshop on Shaping Health Equity through Innovative Workforce Development, including an interactive design thinking activity and stakeholder panel.

CHET staff participated in the Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations' (AAPCHO) national meeting to discuss emerging and current issues in Asian American (AA) and Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (NHPI) health and the management of high-risk populations.
