November is National Adoption Month

Did you know there are 15,000 children in need of a home and family in Georgia? There is especially a need to foster and/or adopt older children. We're posting some articles about adoption this month. And for lots more information, please check out the November Archdiocese Monthly Newsletter.

If you're thinking of adopting, who better to look to as a role model than Amy Conan-Barrett

She has five biological children, Emma, Tess, Liam, Juliet, and Benjamin, a special needs child with Down syndrome. Her adopted children, Vivian and John Peter, are from Haiti.

Barrett spoke about her family in a conversation with Notre Dame in 2019. Click below to see the interview. [Editor's Note: this is one you'll be glad you watched!!]

Note: this link starts the video when she talked about her family. You can rewind it to the beginning of the interview if you want to see the complete interview.

PRO LIFE REFLECTION

Therefore, I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

—Matthew 6:25-26
