Do Black Lives Really Matter to Planned Parenthood?

20 million-That’s how many preborn black babies have been aborted since the tragic Roe v. Wade decision in 1973.

In New York City today, more black babies are aborted than are born alive.

If black lives really mattered to Planned Parenthood, wouldn’t they be supporting young mothers in need instead of preying on them for abortions?

Abortion Clinic Director Says Newborn Baby Less Than 30 Days Old Not a “Legal Person”

(This story is ‘aged’ but the theme is the same. Some do not believe a newborn is a person, deserving of the rights and protections afforded to everyone else)

Americans across the country may be wondering why it is so easy for abortion activists to oppose legislation that would protect newborn babies from infanticide.

That’s because they don’t believe that newborn infants are actually people.

This week, a North Carolina legislative committee approved a bill to protect newborns who survive abortions from infanticide. The vote follows another by the Texas Senate on legislation that also requires appropriate medical care for babies who survive abortions.

Senate Bill 359 requires doctors to provide the same care to an infant that survives an abortion as they give any other newborn. It includes a duty for health care practitioners to report any violations, and it makes those violations a class D felony, the same category as arson, armed robbery, and voluntary manslaughter.

But one abortion advocate in the state opposes the bill.  …read more

HLI announced a new video series entitled “The New Evangelization and the Culture of Life.”  Fr. Shenan J. Boquet, President, Human Life International says “This June, I want to offer you this free pro-life training which contains the knowledge one needs to be a true PRO-LIFE WARRIOR - just like the thousands in our mission field across the worldYou and I must spread the truth to our communities about contraception, abortion, the Culture of Death, but most importantly… the TRUTH OF THE GOSPEL OF LIFE.”

Pro Life Prayer of the Month

That God may protect all unborn babies, and keep them safe from the scourge of abortion, we pray to the lord...

For all women who have had abortions, and for those who feel tempted and afraid, we pray to the lord...

That god may bless all doctors and nurses, and help them use their skills to heal and foster life, we pray to the lord...

For all elected officials, that they courageously advance the cause of life, we pray to the lord...

For all who work in the pro-life movement, that they move forward with haste to the great day of victory, we pray to the lord...

That God strengthen all pro-lifers who suffer ridicule, rejection, or imprisonment, we pray to the lord...

For all who have died, that they share the full glory of heaven, we pray to the lord...

We praise you, o God, Lord and giver of life, and we look to you in the sure hope that you will grant these prayers through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Case for Life: Equipping Christians to Engage the Culture Paperback – March 10, 2009 by Scott Klusendorf. (Click book image to view on Amazon)

The Case for Life provides intellectual grounding for the pro-life convictions that most evangelicals hold. Author Scott Klusendorf first simplifies the debate: the sanctity of life is not a morally complex issue. It's not about choice, privacy, or scientific progress. To the contrary, the debate turns on one key question: What is the unborn? From there readers learn how to engage the great bio-tech debate of the twenty-first century, how to answer objections persuasively, and what the role of the pro-life pastor should be.

Growth of the Baby in the Womb

Modern medical science has clearly shown us that human life begins at conception.

  • At conception, a new human being begins, complete with his or her own unique set of DNAs, which is present from the first day of life. The new little person’s sex is also determined from the beginning.
  • Eighteen days after conception the baby’s heart is beating.
  • During the first month the baby grows to 10,000 times his/her size at conception.
  • S/he moves six weeks after conception though the mother does not yet feel the movements.
  • At eight weeks every part of the body found in an adult is already in the baby.
  • At eleven weeks after conception the baby has fingerprints and the fingernails are growing.
  • At twelve weeks the baby’s lips open and close. S/he can wrinkle his/her forehead, raise his/her eyes, turn his/her head, smile, and frown.
  • At sixteen weeks s/he reacts to sound, sucks and swallows, may get hiccups, yawns and stretches.
  • Although moving for six weeks, at eighteen weeks the mother now feels the movements. The baby pushes with his/her feet and head to exercise and tone his/her developing muscles and sucks his/her thumb. His/her toenails, hair, eyebrows, fringe of eyelashes on closed eyelids are growing.
  • At twenty weeks the baby sleeps and wakes and is fully able to hear.
  • At twenty-four weeks the baby may possibly dream and can make a fist and punch it against his/her mother.
  • By twenty-five weeks the baby in the womb has the ability to hear like that of an adult and can discern the moods and attitudes of its mother. So, we obviously want happy Moms so that we can have happy babies!
  • The baby from an early stage can show the usual symptoms of pain during a pre-birth operation and even release the chemicals associated with adult pain but nobody can judge definitively whether it is in pain or not.

This account of the miracle of life growing in a mother’s womb leads us to ask, “Are expectant mothers so busy that they do not give enough time to contemplate the miracle within them?”

The beautiful thing about this life is that it is created by God. As our Psalm today says, “let us kneel before the God who made us”. Because it is God who made us, we have great respect for human life. The right to life is the most fundamental of all rights.

Planned Parenthood 'steeped in white supremacy,' employees, supporters charge

A letter signed by more than 350 “current and former staffers” of Planned Parenthood of Greater New York, as well as about 800 donors, supporters and volunteers, declared that founder Margaret Sanger  was a racistt, white woman” and that the organization suffers from “institutional racism.”

The missive accomplished its primary goal: the ouster of Laura McQuade who stepped down June 23 as president and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Greater New York.
