TEEN Dash Event
Transfiguration Catholic Church held a "Teen Dash" event on October, 27, where teens from the Parish spent time with leaders of various ministries. Peggy Desiderio organized our presentation and lead the production of handouts that were distributed to each teen. The handouts included information on our Ministry, Pregnancy Aid Clinic, The Hope Center, 40 Days For Life, and related life materials. The night was a big success!! Peggy was assisted by Colleen Sullivan, Rachel Guy and Mike Northway and they were able to talk to about 50 Teens. Now the great news: We are pleased to announce four (4) teens from this event have joined the core group of our ministry! This is fantastic news as we are happy to have teens join us and contribute to the ministry with their unique views and interests. The four new teen members are:

Trinity DeLima
Fatima Gonzalez
Mary Wanjoya
Lauren Winters

WELCOME to the Ministry!

And Congratulations to Peggy for a Job Well Done!

40 Days for Life Campaign Driven by Pro-Life Leaders Around the World

The success of this year’s 40 Days For Life Campaign is due to the leadership of strong pro-lifers.  Our own Rachel Guy, Campaign Director, demonstrated the effectiveness of that leadership here in Atlanta.  The video here is typical of the pro-life leaders from around the world who organize and motivate our ministry members.  There is much work yet to be done. Please join our ministry for the unborn.  For more information about how you can contribute with your time, talent, and prayer, please email Mike Northway.

Project Rachel
Healing the Heart Wounded by Abortion

Project Rachel is the Catholic Church’s healing ministry to those who have been hurt by abortion.
Its name comes from Scripture:
“In Ramah is heard the sound of moaning,
of bitter weeping!
Rachel mourns her children,
she refuses to be consoled
because her children are no more.
Thus says the LORD:
Cease your cries of mourning,
wipe the tears from your eyes.
The sorrow you have shown shall have its reward…
There is hope for your future.”
–Jeremiah 31:15-17

Project Rachel operates as a network of priests, therapists, counselors, and spiritual directors, all trained to provide compassionate one-on-one spiritual and psychological care for those who are suffering because of an abortion. Project Rachel provides confidential and skilled help to each individual who comes to the ministry. In the Archdiocese of Atlanta, the Project Rachel programs include referrals to PATH (Post Abortion Treatment and Healing), a ministry that offers Rachel’s Vineyard Healing Retreat weekends and the SaveOne Healing after Abortion Bible study.

Founded in 1984 by Vicki Thorn in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, Project Rachel programs can now be found in 140 Catholic dioceses in the United States, as well as in dioceses in other countries. Project Rachel is an outreach of the Catholic Church but is open to anyone who is struggling after an abortion loss. We offer hope and help to women and men; parents, grandparents, siblings, friends and others whose lives have been impacted by an abortion.
