Focus on Our Youth

Transfiguration Respect Life Ministry Invites Involvement by Parish Youth
Following the parish Teen Dash event, the Ministry welcomed four new members with more to follow. 2020 plans include a greater emphasis on pro life youth initiatives.

Social Media Initiatives
After consulting with our new youth members, it was determined that attracting Parish youth would require development of social media communications. In the months ahead, tools such as Facebook, Instagram, blogs, etc will be explored for their effectiveness in increasing pro life awareness.

Rethinking Assisted Suicide and Euthanasia

Kevin Dunn, a prolife filmaker will present "Prophets of Hope: Living, Dying and the Power of Presence” The presentation challenges legislators, medical professionals, patients, caregivers, and society at large to rethink and consider the impact of assisted suicide.

When:  January 13, 2020
Time:   10 am - 11:30 am
Where: The Chancery: 2401 Lake Park Drive, Smyrna GA

“There is hope after abortion”

“Project Rachel, the U.S. Catholic Church's ministry to those who have been involved in abortion, is a diocesan-based network of specially trained priests, religious, counselors, and laypersons who provide a team response of care for those suffering in the aftermath of abortion. In addition to referring for Sacramental Reconciliation, the ministry provides an integrated network of services, including pastoral counseling, support groups, retreats and referrals to licensed mental health professionals. It is open to all . . . people of all faiths or no faith.“

Abortion Was the Leading Cause of Death Worldwide in 2019, Killing 42 Million People

A heartbreaking reminder about the prevalence of abortion, compiled by Worldometers indicate that there were over 42.3 million abortions world-wide in 2019. The independent site collects data from governments and other reputable organizations and then reports the data, along with estimates and projections, based on those numbers.
When contrasting the abortion numbers to other causes of death, including cancer, HIV/AIDS, traffic accidents and suicide, abortions far outnumbered every other cause.”
