The SitRep - November 2022
Tactical Reintegration Project

Forward:
Hi everyone!  What an amazing year we have had this year so far!!  We have had many events, achieved some new Open Water and Refresher trainings, and the year isn’t even over yet!

Thank you deeply to everyone that volunteered with us this year and thank you deeply to everyone that participated in our events as well.  Without you, there wouldn’t be a TRP.  You are our family, our hearts, our mission, and our motivation.  Let’s keep this great momentum going throughout the winter and into next year!!

Also, please help us by sharing our content on social media and inviting your friends and family to our events and membership.  We are a community, so we need your assistance in making it grow and get stronger!

Past Events (since last Newsletter):
Since our last newsletter we have had completed a Beach Dive and Cleanup, a Boat Dive and Community Cleanup with the WWP, attended the Boston Sea Rovers, volunteered with Volunteers of America at the Mass Bay Veterans Center, and had an awesome Veteran’s Day Dive and BBQ.  Some details and photos are below.  Please refer to our SigActs section of the TRP website for more photos.

1) Beach Dive and BBQ
We had a super fun dive and BBQ at Folly Cove.  We did a nice dive, beach cleanup, and BBQ with the TRP family.  We also got to meet some new people and helped some divers needing assistance!

2) Boat Dive, Cleanup, and BBQ with the Wounded Warrior Project
An amazing day on the Cape Ann Diver 2 with the Wounded Warrior Project! After the dive we performed a nice community cleanup of the Cape Ann area and also had an incredible BBQ catered by Big Pig.  So many cool pictures on the website so don't forget to check it out!

3) Boston Sea Rovers
TRP attended BSR again to spread the good word and make new partnerships!  Met so many wonderful people and we also connected with many new opportunities.  Stay tuned for these coming announcements!

4) Mass Bay Vet Center Vet Day Meal with Volunteers of America
TRP partnered with Volunteers of America and spent the morning cooking and serving breakfast for residents at Mass Bay Veterans Center's annual Veterans Day celebration. The Veteran’s Center is a transitional house for previously homeless veterans and aids with housing, employment, mental health and more; the Center currently houses 22 transitioning and 7 permanent veterans.

Grants and Donor News:
We have received two new grants and a personal donation since the last SitRep.  The staff at the TRP are excited to share our joy in receiving this wonderful news!  These grants and donations will go a long way in our mission of developing our community both personally and professionally, directly impacting the lives of many.  Please see below out newest grants and donations, and please extend your thanks to them.

- Deepest thanks and gratitude to Aegon Transamerica Foundation!  Your generous contribution will help rocket us into the future for serving our communities!
- Deepest thanks and gratitude to the Brookline Community Foundation!  Your generous contribution will help rocket us into the future in serving our communities!
- Thank you to David Simon and Sandra Dabora for their generous donation!

Community News:

1) Resource Website
One of our awesome members (Keri), and her team (Tam and Gen) have completed a study along with creating a website as part of their Capstone Project.  This website is a great consolidated information center for finding local (Boston area) veteran resources.  This website is also a reflection of the survey that you, our community, filled out and expressed interest in at our first members meeting!  Please take a look and share this with your friends and family:  https://veterancommunitysupport.weebly.com/

Thank you Keri, Tam, and Gen for all your hard work on this!

2) Challenge Coins!
We have had many requests for Challenge Coins, so we got some made up for the community!  They made their debut at Winging It for Diving and will soon be available for purchase on the website as well (along with some tee shirts and other fun stuff)!  So please keep a look out on the website for the Challenge Coins.  In the meantime, you can also pick one up in person at East Coast Divers.

3) Donated Gear
We have not yet found time to work through our donated gear inventory for QC check and photo inventory.  However, we hope to get this done as a winter break activity so we can get the gear out to our community for those that need it. Thank you very much to those that offered to help us.  We will announce and reach out to folks once we formally schedule the activity.
