Important News Concerning Worship Cancellation
Friends in Christ,
We are all concerned with the facts and the unknowns of COVID-19 (Corona Virus). As a people who cherish our time together in worship, and the close fellowship that builds our lives as a family of faith, it’s always a tough decision to try to meet days like these faithfully, and with an eye toward the common good.
With that in mind, and after much prayer and consultation with our Elders, I am announcing that the face-to-face gatherings of the church scheduled for this week, including worship, scheduled meetings and Bible Study, are hereby cancelled. A determination of what may come for the week following will be announced as early next week as is possible. The church office will maintain normal hours, at this point.
Since this time of our life is preventing our being together in worship, I urge you to take time on Sunday to pray, to read the Bible, and to reach out to one of your church friends to just catch up. We will also have a livestream time of worship and devotion on our Facebook (North Eaton Disciples) page at 9 a.m. Watch for details there or on my personal Facebook for further informational reminders. You can see it live, or come back to it later in the day, should you choose to catch that hour of sleep you lost just recently. Your offerings may be mailed to the church, held for your return, or sent online at www.neccdisciples.com.
This is not how we may have wanted to “do Lent” at NECC, and it certainly leaves a gaping hole in my life; yet how much more important it is that we protect the vulnerable from a disease that can be carried so silently and without knowing it into the lives of so many others. This is not a time to panic, but if you are facing concerns about how to navigate the day-to-day of this outbreak, I urge you to call me personally at 878-379-4458. I always welcome time with you.
Take heart! These days will pass, and we will face the next challenge as we are facing this one—together, in the loving care of Christ, and in full confidence in God’s provisions.
Keep washing your hands and take good care of yourselves and each other. I’m here, and more importantly, your church is here for you.
