Dear Parents and AHS Athletics Supporters,
We are excited that we are exactly 3 weeks to the April 1, 2022 Submission Deadline to receive Applications from student athletes for the student scholarship program that the Amundsen Athletics Foundation has established. With your support AAF has been able to raise $4000 to offer 4 $1000 scholarship to our student athletes that meet the criteria for this 2021-2022 school year.
The foundation was very passionate about establishing this scholarship to offer our student athletes continued support and access to new opportunities beyond the walls of Amundsen High School. We hope you will encourage your student athlete to consider reviewing the criteria and submitting an application to the foundation for the Selection Committee to review.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE: Amundsen Seniors who have participated in Athletics up through their senior year are eligible to apply for one of four $1,000 student scholarships for post-secondary education expenses.
WHAT PROGRAMS QUALIFY: Two or Four Year Accredited Educational Institutions, Approved Apprenticeships, Licensing and Approved Training Academies. The selection committee will consider other Post-Secondary options; please clarify this with the Athletics Director at least one week before the April 1 Due Date.
Evaluation Criteria:
Amundsen High School Way (25 points based on analysis of essay and reference letter content)
Post-Secondary Education Goals (15 points based on analysis of essay and reference letter content)
Academics (15 points based on overall transcript analysis through 2Q of current school year)
Community Involvement (15 points based on analysis of essay and reference letter content)
Leadership (15 points based on analysis of essay and reference letter content)
Sportsmanship (15 points based on analysis of essay and reference letter content)
Selection Committee: The committee is made up of AHS counselors and staff

April 1: Application Period Closes
May 1: Recipients Announced
June 1: Scholarship Awards Presented (upon verification)
