Welcome to the Spatial Thoughts Newsletter #3

If you have not yet seen the new aggregate function in QGIS, I strongly recommend learning more about it. It enables many new types of spatial analysis and simplifies existing workflows. My new post to
Find Neighbor Polygons using Summary Aggregate Function got a lot of positive feedback from the QGIS community.

New tutorials for QGIS3

Most tutorials are fully re-done with new materials and better techniques to work with QGIS 3.4 LTR. Here are the new tutorials that you may want to check out.

I also wrote a completely new tutorial for PyQGIS Running Processing Algorithms via Python (QGIS3) that shows you how to write simple python scripts to do custom geoprocessing.

More Learning Resources

QGIS International User Conference 2019 videos are now available online! If you are short on time, I recommend watching at least Victor Olaya's Keynote - Ecology of the QGIS ecosystem and Peter Petrik's Mesh layer: why we need another GIS data type talks.

Kurt Menke presented 'Very Best Features of QGIS 3.x' at FOSS4G-NA. Check out the slide deck.
