Forward Forward
I’m a Bay of Plenty local and grew up in Tauranga, now living on a lifestyle block in Pahoia with my husband James and two children Grace (8yrs) and Jimmy (7yrs). My previous role as founder and manager of Awhina House (transitional housing for homeless women) gave me unique insight into some of the challenges faced by people in need seeking support and the barriers to accessing it. It’s my hope that I can be a bridge to help people access the support they need. I love to bring people together and believe in the power of community to build relationships and support those who are vulnerable. In my weekends I enjoy getting outdoors with my family, stand up paddleboarding and curling up with a good book.
Alan I'm married to Kat (17yrs) we have three children, Lani (12), Jonah (10) and Sereniti (9). We have family here and have been visiting the area since 2011.
I have worked in community/youth roles since 2015 and am very passionate about local solutions for local issues.
I have connections to the area through my father to John Lee-Faulkner and Ruawahine, and I'm looking forward to reconnectiong with that part of my whakapapa.
Ariana joined Katikati Taiao in September as the Insights and Information Administrator. Ariana brings a fresh te ao Māori perspective, a corporate marketing background, many years of volunteer leadership, experience in wellbeing initiatives both with local iwi and in high deprivation communities. You’ll see her bright smile in person at community events; online, building our social media presence, and at the Katikati Taiao Board and stakeholder meetings.
YOUTH EMPLOYMENT COACH COMING SOON!

We are excited about a new service coming soon for our Katikati young people.
The Youth Employment Coach role is to support young people’s wellbeing and to guide them on a pathway to achieve success in education, training and employment.

The Employment Coach will:
  • Provide mentoring and coaching to support young people to find employment
  • Work together to develop the young person’s confidence and skills
  • Help young people identify goals and create a plan to work towards achieving them
Whirihia te ara ki mua is our cross-sector group of locals who are stewarding our community visions, supporting action groups and collective activities.  We are linked to Katikati Taiao who have partnered with the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) to further the community-led development (CLD) way of working in Katikati.  We are all involved in community-focused work or activities in some capacity.
The Youth Employment Coach role has been developed under the “Positive Pathways for Rangitahi “in partnership with Tamawhariua Health and Social Services and the Katikati Community Centre
