I am fuming from fiddling with my printer all morning. I screamed "fuckin' piece of shit' a lot, one of the most cathartic and least productive phrases in the English language. It always feels like a personal slight when some piece of technology doesn't function the way I am expecting it to any given moment. What did I do to deserve this? Why me, why now?
Most of the time, these feelings dissipate. I was inconvenienced for a few hours, and I'll recover.
I was trying to slam shut the slot where you load paper, and it kept getting stuck. I would have broken the thing, cheaply built as it is. Fortunately for the printer, Meggy came over, pushed me aside, and slid the drawer closed like she was taking a knife to butter. She gave me a look that said, "chill the fuck out" and also "I love you. You're fine"
So it goes, folks! Try to keep your heads on straight the last few weeks of this batty year and beyond.
When at the end of your rope, at least remember you can always stop what you're doing and pick up a book.

CONGRATS TO JOSH HALPER!
This past Friday, we celebrated the release of Josh Halper's debut album 'Alrightnik.' It's a staggering record, highlighting the Nashville session guitarist's prowess as a composer, instrumentalist, and songwriter. Above is a beautiful video for the song Reflection, created by Jessi Baumgartner and McKay House.
You can order the record on CD (almost sold out), cassette (close to sold out), and digital by clicking the image above. This is clearly only the beginning for Halper, and we are honored to have played a small role in this music's existence.
We also announced, released, and sold out the next installation of our bootleg series. DLR BTL006 features two performances by Powers/Rolin duo, which is Jen Powers and Matthew J. Rolin of Columbus, OH. The first side finds the duo improvising with Lisa Bella Donna, the legend of synthesizer-based music. All proceeds from the release go to RAICES, and though the tapes sold out within 12 hours, you can still support this fantastic organization by purchasing the record digitally.
MC RELEASES 'BRIEF HOLD: INSTRUMENTALS VOL. 1'
I am happy to share this small EP of instrumental hold music I recorded back in August, right before moving to the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia. It's good for while you wait. I've got a new full length record coming out next year, so until then, there is this. I recorded it all on a 4 track, and Lucas Knapp mastered it. I drew the cover, and Jon Samuels colored and inked it and made it pop. I made the music video seen above. I hope you enjoy, I'll be recording a lot more music this upcoming year. Please purchase the bugger if you can.
