Dear Living Faith Uniting Church Family and Friends
"But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed." Luke 5:16
This morning I ventured out onto my balcony for some fresh air and to spend time in God's presence. I have been reminded how Jesus withdrew from others, early in the morning, to spend time with His Father in prayer.
The global circumstances that are impacting all of us, give us the opportunity to do what Jesus did - to be more like Him. Our "forced" withdrawal from normal life is providing us with the opportunity to spend quality time with God in prayer and to experience His comfort and presence daily, just as Jesus did.
There is such a great need for prayer at this time in the world. Please pray for our healthcare workers who are battling to keep people alive on the frontline; please pray for people who feel depressed or lonely during these strange events; and please pray for those grieving the loss of loved ones due to Coronavirus.
This Sunday's sermon (5 April) is now available for you to view via our church website. Full instructions on how to access sermons, worship songs and prayers are immediately below my letter (just scroll down). Why not help others that are self-isolating by sharing the instructions with them on how to access our sermons - let's bless as many people as possible with a message of hope!
Please take a moment to soak in the photograph of Jerusalem above this message. The Holy City reminds us to begin to open our hearts as we prepare for Easter and what God may reveal to us about Himself during this upcoming Easter season.
Our hope, anchor and protection lies in Jesus Christ and His power. We need more than ever to herald and believe this truth in our lives. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us! We are not alone.
